What are your favourite apps as a garden designer?

I’m creating a pdf with my favourite apps as a garden designer and how do I use them and what for. So if you interested don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletter šŸ˜‰šŸ‘.

Applications and softwares changed the way I organize my work and really changed the way I relate with my customers.

There are a lot of apps that promise you more productivity and better comunication with your team, so it’s really easy to get side track and to try something new every time a new application appears in the app or play store. It’s really important to make a compromise, so once you find the few apps and software programs you think it will improve your workflow, comunication and productivity invest your time to explore them to the maximum, take total advantage of their capabilities and don’t jump from app to app every month. Because what will happen is that you never going to get the routine of using them and you going to end up wasting a lot of time just watching You Tube videos on how to use this app, best way to set it up etc.. and the next month the same thing for another app that does more or less the same thing.

So let me tell you, I’m guilt of doing this often, and some times I actually find something that I end up using but a lot of times I do end up wasting a lot of time setting everything up and in the end is really not practical in every day workflow. And this happen to me recently with the Notion app, so I love the concept and customisation but the fact that that doesn’t integrate with my software of choice like Google suite, Slack or Evernote should be a warning to not ā€œwasteā€œ so much time setting it up, now its not a complete lost because you always learn something new but a good tip for the future is: check out the integration possibilities with the apps you already using at the moment.

Another tip: make sure it has desktop access, being in a browser or as software you can install in your pc. Cross platform is really important, so it doesn’t matter what device you have you can have access to the app.

But first make sure that this something you really need or that is going to improve your workflow ? It’s the first question you should ask yourself, next you need to figure it out if its a company that has an actual business plan, meaning its not going to disapear after a year or something, that’s why sometimes paid apps are not a bad idea because it means you contributing towards the success of the app you use.

So what apps do you use? Add your comment to this post!
